Lab'URBA

Lab’Urba, a laboratory belonging to Paris-Est-Creteil University (UPEC) and Gustave Eiffel University, was created in 2008 with the objective of combining teams together from the east of Paris working on cities and urban planning. To date, it is the most important laboratory in its field and is directly linked to the theme of the "city of tomorrow" supported by the scientific project of the FUTURE Initiative in which the Gustave Eiffel University is playing a major role. Backing from the Paris School of Urban Planning, the urban engineering department, and LABEX Urban Futures are strong assets for the laboratory. Integration of researchers in urban engineering has increased its participants’ diversity and has enabled a line of research in Urban Territories and Systems to be developed: transitions, adaptations, and resilience. At present, the unit brings more than 25 researchers together.
